Requirements for Professorial and Senior Lecturer Positions:

ü A PhD in relevant field
ü Show high levels of expertise with regards to leadership development
ü Registered with a professional body
ü Must show proof of active membership and Registration with a Professional body in Zambia where applicable
ü Teaching/training leadership development/leadership coaching experience at a reputable higher education institution, locally or internationally
ü Proof of researched supervisory experience
ü Published articles in accredited, peer-reviewed journals
ü Not less than five (5) years practical experience

Required Competencies and Behavioral Attributes:

• Be able to demonstrate Academic and Professional Leadership, presenting and communicating information
• Business Awareness
• Take responsibility for actions, projects and people and work under own direction

Requirements for Lecturer Positions:

ü Basic Medical/Science Degree – MBChB, BDS, BSc or equivalent
ü Postgraduate qualification – MMed, MDent, MSc or equivalent
ü Registration with the Health Professionals Council where applicable

Job Purpose:

To plan, organize, evaluate, coordinate and manage assigned academic program (s) in consultation with other relevant units to ensure quality performance. The individuals will be responsible for academic functions in the mentioned departments and will provide academic and collegial leadership.

Reporting to:  Director, Directorate of Distance Education and Open Learning

Location: Riverside Main Campus, Kitwe

Key Performance Areas /Core Functions

• Supervise the production of high quality modules that motivate learning
• Organize and Coordinate the residential school for distance learners
• Design and conduct short courses on demand for industry
• Review and improve curriculum in consultation with other units of the University
• Source field and industrial replacements for students
• Coordinate students projects and presentations
• Conduct research and teaching
• Carry out additional tasks as and when required by Director

QUALIFICATIONS

• PhD degree in a relevant field
• Masters degree in a relevant field
• Undergraduate degree in a relevant field
• Minimum of five years experience in similar positions
• Strong networking skills with relevant industry will be required
• Competence in e-learning facilities is a must
• Marketing skills is an added advantage
