Standard Chartered Bank Careers: Portfolio Manager, Priority & Personal Banking


Lusaka, LUSAKA PROVINCE, Zambia
Job Purpose:
  • Responsible for leading and executing a systematic portfolio management to enhance capability and consistency in client management through portfolio discipline.
  • Providing a framework for leads management and portfolio effectiveness
  • Work with Analytics to identify New to Bank (NTB) lead opportunities sourced from Targeted lists and Senior Executives of Employee Banking, Commercial Banking , Corporate Banking and Business Banking to drive client acquisition
  • Lead deepening initiatives by analyzing existing portfolio and driving contact management quality to increase revenue of existing to bank (ETB) clients to deepen client relationships
  • Design effective approaches to drive online channel usage and to effectively manage client-led requests for successful conversion
  • Coordinate the cross border referral process
Key Responsibilities:
RM Portfolio Management:
  • Drive portfolio management of the existing base of Priority and Personal Banking clients. and execute optimization, cross-sell, up-sell and exit programs for the Segments
  • Drive and manage client retention strategies, including proactive and reactive retention programs
  • Implement and monitor KPIs on the Personal & Priority Client Journey
  • Ensure high quality contact and account plans to drive relationship deepening
  • Drive and manage client “Tail management” programs
  • Guide and support RM portfolio right sizing
  • Monitor and manage RM's portfolio rebalancing
  • Monitor and client AUM and deposit attrition
  • Monitor Portfolio balance between Foreign and Local currency
  • Ensure revenue collection on the portfolio and monitor revenue lines
  • Liaise with SBIM to ensure international referrals are recognized and revenue reflected in the segment and to relationship managers
  • Ensure required portfolio monitoring of Customer Due Diligence portfolio requirements
  • Monitor and review excess management on the Portfolio in line with the Excess Management Process
Leads generation:
  • Identify effective leads opportunities for acquiring and deepening clients for the segment leading to NTB and ETB affluent clients and co-ordinate consistent execution across markets
  • Ensure efficient handling of client led requests from online and above the line campaigns
  • Monitor and develop approaches to ensure smooth handover from acquisition to relationship managers (Client Journey)
  • Develop effective approaches to ensure successful activation of new to bank clients
Capacity Optimization:
  • Liaise with Client Acquisition and Relationship teams to plan and execute effective channel utilization such as specialists, digital channels and contact centers
  • Plan and agree RM's and Channel capacity and productivity with client acquisition and relationships
  • Ensure the Contact Strategy is implemented

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Degree with desired 3 – 5+ years of Retail Banking experience
  • Thought leadership in leads and portfolio management with an insightful appreciation across the entire range of Retail Banking products and services
  • Deep understanding of client needs/purchasing behaviour and its drivers in Priority & Personal Banking segment at different life stages
  • In depth understanding of Segments & Distribution channels, e.g., Branches, Remote channels
  • In depth understanding of key business drivers in Country with sound understanding of legal, political and economic situation/framework
  • Strong strategic and analytical acumen coupled with strong execution capability
  • Relationship building & influencing: able to build strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders. Adept at working across matrix organizations
