General Maintenance Officer – 1
Responsibilities
Job Purpose:
• To ensure that the University infrastructure is in a good
state of repair and suitable condition all the times
• To carry out routine checks and visual inspection of
building infrastructure, installation and fittings to ensure that they are all
in good condition
• To plan, organize and supervise maintenance and repair
works of University building infrastructure, installation and fittings
• To allocate tasks to plumbers, carpenters, bricklayers,
painters, handymen, and general workers and supervise their work in order to
ensure accuracy
• To prepare sectional budget and submit it to the Resident
Engineer
• To prepare reports in the Section and submit to the
Resident Engineer
Qualifications
• Must have a Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 Credits
that must include Mathematics and English Language
• Must possess a Diploma in Civil Engineering. Possession of
a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering will be an added
advantage
• Must have at least 05 years practical and demonstrable
work experience in a reputable organisation
• Must be able to interpret Engineering Drawings
(architectural and structural)
• Must be computer literate and conversant with applicable
Engineering Software such as Auto CAD
• Must be a fully paid up member of EIZ with a valid
Practicing License
