Zambart is a research-focused non-governmental organisation
that conducts research on HIV and Tuberculosis to help control and mitigate the
impact of the dual epidemic. Zambart staff form an interdisciplinary team with
a range of expertise including epidemiology, clinical science, social science,
laboratory, operations research, health systems and services research, health
policy analysis, health economics, health communication research compliance and
counselling. Zambart under the TREATS study has vacancies in the following
positions:
Study Manager – Incidence of Tb Infection Study
TREATs Study Summary
• The overall aim of TREATS project is to measure the impact
of a combined TB/HIV intervention of population level screening for TB,
combined with universal testing and treatment (UTT) for HIV, delivered over 4
years, on TB incidence, prevalence of TB disease and incidence of TB infection
Study Manager – Incidence of Tb Infection Study -LUSAKA
The Study Manager will provide leadership and technical
assistance in Incidence of TB Study activities. This will include:
Responsibilities
§ Provide
leadership and guidance to study staff.
§
Ensure compliance to regulatory standards at all times and that the study is
conducted in accordance with GCP.
§ Work
closely with Ministry of Health and other stakeholders implementing TB/HIV
activities.
§
Assist with the design and management of the study activities.
§
Spearhead the development of the tools used for the study.
§
Spearhead the overall recruitment and training of the study staff.
§
Supervise the study teams including monitoring of progress and performance and
trouble shooting for sites where performance is not acceptable.
§
Provide written reports of study activities
Qualifications
§
Higher degree in health related sciences e.g. MB.BS/MD/MPH/MSc epidemiology.
§
Sound working experience in Public Health with a focus on TB control and TB/HIV
collaborative activities.
§ Good
scientific and clinical trial acknowledge.
§
Tuberculosis trials and experience of supervising/mentoring staff would be
advantageous.
§
Undertake any other tasks that the PI shall reasonably require from time to
time
